What are the basic steps of die-cutting machine adjustment?

In order to install the knife and adjust the mold in the entire die-cutting operation, you can compare and understand it in the actual production.

   (1) Receive a die

In the production process, we need to receive the die for installing the knife after the materials are matched. Then, when we receive the die for the first step, we need to receive the die based on the drawing and the material number. In the process of receiving the die, we must remember that the material number and tool number must be correctly compared in order to receive the tool correctly, not just based on the shape of the product. There are too many similarly shaped product tools in large die-cutting factories, and the same product uses several sets of new and old tools. Once the wrong tool is picked up, it will be discovered during production, which has caused a large waste of materials.

   (2) Fixed die

After receiving it, we need to fix the received die on the die-cutting machine template. When fixing here, we need to strictly compare the work instructions to confirm whether the mold is a down-cutting or an up-cutting mold. If it is an upper punching die, it needs to be fixed on the lower template, if it is a lower punching die, it needs to be fixed on the upper template. When fixing, we usually use double-sided tape with higher viscosity and thinner thickness for fixing. When choosing double-sided tape, remember to use double-sided tape with high viscosity and good stability (usually 3M tape) to prevent the die from falling off during the punching process.

   (3) Angle adjustment of the fixed die

When fixing the die, it is not only necessary to fix the tool. During the fixing process, we must ensure that the die is perpendicular to the feeding direction of the machine to ensure that the die is perpendicular to the feeding belt during punching. status.

   (4) Fixing the backing plate

After fixing the mold, we need to fix the backing plate. The main function of the backing plate is to protect the direct contact between the blade and the template, reduce the damage of the tool and increase the service life of the tool. The backing board generally adopts a PVC board or PE insulation board with a thickness of about 1mm. The general use area of the backing plate should be more than 5mm on the four sides of the tool bottom plate. It is advisable to fix the backing plate on the template with one side of the feeding direction.

Some die-cutting masters are accustomed to putting two pads when turning on the machine, mainly for the convenience of adjustment.

   (5) Pressure adjustment

The pressure adjustment here mainly refers to the adjustment of the depth of the die-cutting die seat. After we install the tool, we need to adjust the mold base to test the pressure to check whether the mold can effectively punch the material. During the pressure adjustment process, it is strictly prohibited to directly perform single-action or linkage punching, and the equipment must be adjusted to the manual gear for test adjustment. When the mold base is adjusted to the current large stroke and still fails to punch the material effectively, the pressure adjustment should be carried out and tested again. When the mold base is adjusted to a large stroke, it has been punched to the lower mold base, indicating that the pressure of the mold base is too deep, and the pressure should be reduced and tested again.

Note: In the process of adjustment, we try to adjust the decompression stroke in a small stroke adjustment unit, and it should not be too large.

   (6) Fine adjustment of mold flatness

When the tool pressure is adjusted so that the mold can fully die-cut the product, but there are still some subtle places that do not meet the punching requirements, it is necessary to fine-tune the flatness of the mold. Usually in the fine-tuning process, we need to use carbon paper, pad the carbon paper between the backing plate and the template, and then perform die cutting, leave the carbon paper imprint on the backing plate, and then compare the punched sample with the imprint on the template , Where the punching is too deep, we need to use a small blade to scrape the template on the template. When the punching is too shallow and cannot be effectively punched, we need to cover tape or other materials in the shallow place to raise the template to ensure that the tool can effectively punch. In the process of fine-tuning the flatness, whether we are scraping or covering, we must adjust in small units. Our commonly used cushioning material is 0.025mm OPP, and other thinner materials can also be used.

   (7) Adjustment of mold angle

After we complete the above steps, the first continuous punching of the product can be carried out. But in the process of continuous punching, we found that the product is not completely perpendicular to the feeding direction, especially when punching, there are errors in the matching cutting lines of the front and rear cutters. This is because when we adjust the mold, the die is not completely or relatively strictly perpendicular to the material feeding direction. At this time, we need to adjust the vertical angle of the tool
